Whidbey Island Tour 2023
Can't wait to get out on the road again? Join us Saturday, August 26th, we're driving the Whidbey Island tour-a nice, scenic half-day tour!
At least one person in the car must be a BMW CCA member. If you're not current with your membership, please join or rejoin here.
We'll start out in Monroe for a few twists and turns whilst heading toward the island. Meet up about 8 am, at the Monroe Plaza Starbucks, 19813 State Route 2. After a short drivers meeting, we'll head up Woods Creek Road at 8:30.
A slightly different route this year takes us just short of Lake Roesiger, then over to Machias, then up to Lake Stevens continuing north to Arlington on Highway 9. From there to Lake Murray the road gets more interesting as we cross over I-5 and come into La Conner. We then head toward Fidalgo Island, over Deception Pass and on to our second stop at Fr. Casey on Whidbey Island. After a 20 minute stop there to take in the sweeping views of the San Juan Islands, we continue our way down the island.
We end up near the southern tip in beautiful Langley around lunch time. That is the end of the planned tour. After lunch, it's just a few miles to the Clinton/Mukilteo ferry to the mainland. Lots of eating places, antique stores and other small town shops await you in Langley’s historic district. With the size of our group, we may have to spread ourselves out over the available restaurants.
You can back track a little and jump on the Port Townsend ferry to the peninsula for more adventures. You’re also close to the legendary curves along Chuckanut Drive up toward Bellingham.
Registration on MSR will open on August 7 and close August 25. We will limit registration to 15 cars. Adult waivers can be completed using Speedwaiver at that time. Cost is $10/car, plus a $2 MSR fee. At least one person per car must be a member of BMW CCA, and enter their member number to register.
Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Monroe Plaza Starbucks, 19813 State Highway 2 at Woods Creek Road. Please arrive no later than 8 am for a drivers meeting. Itineraries, and minors’ waivers will be exchanged. We leave at 8:30.
