Join BMW Club Members on Thursday, July 27th for another great day of touring! This will be a relatively short tour at about 85 miles from Federal Way to The Ridge Motorsports Park track (near Shelton). At the end of our track events, you are on your own.

The tour is held on a day the BMW club has access to the track. This year it is on a Thursday.

Tours are driven on public roads, minding local traffic laws. We focus on safety, but make an effort to find little-known twisty roads to add a bit of a challenge. While we highly encourage participation in our Car Control Clinics and HPDEs, no special skills are equipment are needed to participate in a Tour.

From Federal Way, we cruise around Tacoma, cross the Narrows Bridge that replaced "Galloping Gurdy", stop at a really cool coffee shop, and continue along scenic roads that line South Puget Sound and Hood Canal. Nice weather should provide us with gorgeous views of the water and Olympic Mountains.

The Ridge Motorsports Park is an amazing newer venue featuring a wide smooth surface and plenty of elevation changes. Once there, we will be allowed to run a few parade laps during the lunch break of our BMW CCA High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) day events. No helmets or tech inspection will be required for the parade laps however we ask you to secure everything in the car that may cause injury in an accident or place it in the trunk.

The tour will officially conclude with the final parade lap but you may want to stay and see what our HPDEs are all about.

The track has a small café that will be open for your purchases. A table of foods may be near the café entrance. It is for the racers who have paid for a meal. Please respect this is not part of our tour. Other options for lunch are to bring your own picnic lunch or hit the restaurants in Shelton a few miles away.

We will meet in Federal Way at 8:00 am for social time, 0815 for business(open paperwork and driver's meeting) and 0830 we roll out. Early Monday morning, July 24, everyone registered will receive an email with all details including a tour map and other materials. You need to read everything and get your questions answered prior to Thursday morning.

We will need a volunteer to the Tour “Sweeper”. If you have been on at least two tours with the BMW or another marque club and would like to be the person at the back of the tour group keeping an eye on all those in front of you, please let me know.
