Enjoy a drift weekend on the Kart Track at CMP.. We are limiting entries to 50 people, which means a lot of track time for participants. Plus additional features such as:
- Meet some special drifters:
- Johan Swartz – the drift world record holder, sharing his world record-setting experiences.
- James Clay – race driver, drifter and founder/ owner of BimmerWorld
- Drift Under the Lights – on Saturday evening, we’ll have a special two-hour track time to drift under the lights for BMW CCA members. Not a current member? We’ve arranged a half-price sign up for this event only. For $29 you can be a BMW CCA member for a year, and have the opportunity to Drift Under the Lights, you can add the membership to your registration on MSR.
- Live entertainment on Saturday night
- Free Camping –Camping is allowed at the track, and they have 20 (free) and 30 (for a fee) amp service. There are ample restrooms and showers on site. You can reserve sites and electricity on the CMP Site
- Halloween Weekend - This weekend event is traditionally our Halloween celebration weekend, so if you like, decorate your paddock spaces. If you have kids, trick-or-treating is the norm. It’s always a fun weekend.
- Buffet Dinner Saturday night (this is an additional cost) Otherwise, there’s a canteen serving food throughout the day.
Although this weekend is sponsored by the Sandlapper BMW Car Club of America, you don’t have to have a BMW. You can run anything. If you aren’t a member, you can sign up on this registration page. There are lots of parks, including a 10% tire discount at Discount Tire. You may need that after the weekend!

Registration for the Drift event is only $275 for the weekend.
Please- when filling out your Motorsportsreg profile, include a full resume of your experience. Be honest, if you're not, we will quickly find out, and we don't like sending people home.
You can purchase dinner tickets for yourself and guests during registration. Novices are welcome, and will receive instruction. Drivers meetings and any classroom sessions are mandatory, and we are real good at taking attendance.
No, you won't be able to do the drift event and participate in the HPDE on the same weekend. Sorry
Event requirements
- All students must be 16 or older and have a non restricted drivers license.
- If you ar registering as a non member, or do not have your member number, enter all zeros if you find required field.
- All participants must have a Snell 2015 or newer closed face helmet. Motorcycle helmets are not allowed at Carolina Motorsports Park.
- The club may have a few loaner helmets available, but it will be on a first come basis.
- All novice cars participating in the weekend event must have a passenger seat and appropriate restraints
- All novice cars must have equal restraints for driver and instructor.
- All cars must have a fire extinguisher in a fixed mount as a minimum. Full fire systems are even better.
- Convertible cars ( with the exception of BMW hard top convertibles with factory retractable hardtops) must have a roll bar that meets or exceeds a broomstick test, or full or half cage that does the same.
- Confirmed participants will receive a confirmation package via email, at least two weeks prior to the event, containing the medical, technical inspection, and other materials you will require prior to the school. These documents must be presented at check in.
- Your technical inspection form should be completed by a qualified shop, we will not do tech inspections at the track, your instructor will do a loose object inspection after the morning meet and greet.

- Please note- Any track damages billed to Sandlapper BMWCCA caused by you, will be your responsibility.
