Experience the Thrill of the Track with BMW CCA CVC at Lime Rock Park!
One of the most exciting programs our chapter offers each year is High Performance Driver Education (HPDE). If you’ve ever wanted to explore the full potential of your car in a safe, controlled environment, HPDE provides the perfect opportunity—with classroom instruction and one-on-one coaching from experienced instructors.
For 2025, we’ve reserved three Saturdays at historic Lime Rock Park for our HPDE events:

This year, we’re offering BMW CCA Members an exclusive opportunity to experience HPDE in three exciting ways:
1️⃣ HPDE-Curious? Come Observe – Free of Charge! (Available in April, July, and September)
If you're interested but not ready to drive, come watch the action for free and see what HPDE is all about.
🔹 Trackside Viewing – Watch fellow club members push their cars to the limit.
🔹 Explore Lime Rock – Visit multiple vantage points, including the Sam Posey-designed tower.
🔹 Meet the Drivers – Wander through the paddock, check out the cars, and chat with participants.
✅ No entry fee—just complete the SpeedWaivers for Lime Rock Park and BMW CCA.
2️⃣ Ride-Along Experience – Feel the Speed! (Available in April, July, and September)
Strap in for hot laps with an experienced instructor and experience what it’s like to be “at speed” on one of America’s most iconic tracks.
🏎️ Feel the adrenaline as you navigate the track at high speeds.
🎧 Safety Gear Required – SNELL 2015 or 2020 SA, EA, or M helmet (loaners available).
👕 Dress Code – Long-sleeved shirt/jacket, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.

3️⃣ Taste of the Track – Drive Your Own Car! (September Event Only)
Get behind the wheel of your own car for a paced lead/follow session behind an instructor!
🚗 No helmet required
🚫 No passengers permitted

- Less than 14 days before the event fee is non-refundable.
Event requirements
Please review the following rules and requirements for participating in these on-track activities at Lime Rock. Failure to comply will result in your exclusion from the event and NO REFUND.
- Entrants must present a valid driver’s license the day of the event. You cannot participate without showing it at Registration - NO REFUNDS will be issued due to not having your valid license with you. Entrants must be a BMW CCA member in good standing and present their membership card at Registration.
- Entrants must be 18 years old or older to drive and/or be a passenger in any car on the track. Only entrants/instructors/workers are allowed in a car on the track. Non-participating/non-working event guests are not allowed “rides” in student or instructor cars.
- FOR RIDE ALONG PARTICIPANTS: Snell 2015 or 2020 (SA or M) helmets are REQUIRED. SNELL 2015 HELMETS WILL BE GRANTED A ONE YEAR ONLY GRACE PERIOD THROUGH 2026. No exceptions, NO REFUNDS. FIA-Rated Helmet standards are generally updated every 8 to 10 years. FIA 8860-2010 helmets are accepted until 12/31/2028, FIA 8860-2018 and 8860-2018APB helmets currently do not have an expiration date. FIA 8859-2015 helmets currently do not have an expiration date.
NOTE: a limited number of loaner helmets will be available so try to bring your own. - FOR TASTE OF THE TRACK DRIVERS All cars must be muffled to meet Lime Rock Park’s regulations. As of March, 2011, Lime Rock's sound limit for BMW CCA events is 87dB. For information, contact Lime Rock at 860-435-5000. NO REFUNDS.
