Thinking about your first track outing, returning after time away from the hobby, or signing up for driving events every weekend? Maybe you are wondering what high performance driving education events (HPDE) are like. Is it racing? Can I use my regular car? Do I need special tires? Will it damage my car? Will I feel intimidated by "track junkies"? How do I get started?
Join us for free at Speedy Race Gear (Race Suit Rental!) on April 24th, 2021 from 10am to 12:30pm to learn the answers to these questions and more.
Refreshments and baked goods will be provided as we highlight what to expect, how to prepare, share stories of good times, and embarrass ourselves on the Sim Rig. Speedy Race Gears' inventory of safety and driving gear is available to try on, rent and purchase.
On the day of the event, a short presentation will cover HPDE essentials with hands-on examples
- Car Preparation: tech inspection, track insurance options
- Driver Preparation: shoes, clothing, helmet, etc.
- Day of Experience: time on track, speeds expected, time off track
The remainder of the time will be left for informal Q&A, exploring the shop, and chatting with fellow car enthusiasts. As an extra incentive we are extending a $50 credit towards 2021 Sommer Schnell registration to those who attend this HPDE primer. All members are welcome, there is NO cost to participate.
